This commitment to education and stewardship is something Wildlife Habitat Canada shares. We want all Canadians to understand the importance of good stewardship and sustainability and the need to conserve wildlife habitat and biodiversity.

Bob has developed a curriculum manual about sustainable forestry for grade 10 students. This educational resource is used in secondary schools throughout the province. First Nations youth have particularly benefited from Bob's knowledge and enthusiasm.

Bob's positive influence has been extensive. Woodlot owners throughout Manitoba, as well as many members of the general public, have benefited from participating in his numerous workshops and education programs relating to sustainable forestry and sustainable ecosystems.

The Forest Stewardship Recognition Program was established to recognize and promote exceptional stewardship and conservation in Canada's forests. Since 1998, more than a hundred individuals, companies and organizations have been honoured for their stewardship efforts. Winners of the forest stewardship award receive a limited edition print of a painting entitled New Morning by BC artist Don Li-Leger.

The founding partners of the Forest Stewardship Recognition Program are Wildlife Habitat Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, the Canadian Forest Service and the Forest Products Association of Canada.
