About What's New Students Thank WHC

Students Thank WHC

Students from St. Francis Xavier High School in Ottawa who attended Wildlife Habitat Canada's 2011 Robert Bateman Get to Know Contest Launch at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa recently sent WHC some thank you notes.

The students had the opportunity to participate in a sketching activity and demonstration with 2011 Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp & Print Artist W. Allan Hancock. Here are some of the things the students had to say about their experience:

"That was an excellent trip! I really enjoyed the artist that came in and all of his paintings. The whole trip was planned out nicely, thanks to everyone who helped plan it." - Torianne

"Thank you for having us at the Museum of Nature. Thank you for all the great stuff, including the sketchbooks, posters, and Timbits. Mr. Hancock gave a great demonstration, and the museum was really interesting. Thanks again." - Alicia

"On the art field trip that our art teacher, Mr. Crozier, took us on I had loads of fun. We got a calendar showing last years winner from the Robert Bateman contest. After this trip I entered into the contest with one of my painting. Allan Hancock was an amazing artist and I couldn't believe some of his paintings. I had lots of fun and I wish I could go again!" - Sarah
