2009 Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp
WHC is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2009 and is pleased that world renowned wildlife artist Robert Bateman has painted the image entitled, Northern Wetland – Lesser Scaups, for the 25th Anniversary Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp.A Special Edition 25th Anniversary Souvenir Sheet has been issued to commemorate this milestone year. The Souvenir Sheet depicts the images of the first (1985) and the 2009 Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamps both created by Robert Bateman.
Len Ugarenko, President of Wildlife Habitat Canada remarked, “Bateman’s passion for wetlands and waterfowl are expressed in his art and Wildlife Habitat Canada is thrilled to be celebrating its 25th Anniversary with new art work that will be as memorable in time as the mallards that graced the first conservation stamp in 1985”.
