Robert Bateman Get to Know Contest Premier Launch

The premier launch event for the 2010 Robert Bateman Get to Know Contest took place at the Canadian Museum of Nature, Ottawa, ON, on Earth Day, April 22, 2010.  Wildlife Habitat Canada is pleased to have partnered with the Get to Know Program, the Canadian Museum of Nature, Nature Canada, the Canadian Wildlife Federation and the Robert Bateman Public School to organize this unique event. The contest is a nationwide competition that encourages youth to submit artwork, photography and written work to celebrate their "outdoor neighbours”. Launch events took place all across Canada.

One entry from the art competition will be chosen as the image that will be used on the 2011 Canadian Youth Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp produced by Wildlife Habitat Canada.  A separate grant program, dedicated to youth and wildlife conservation, will be established based on the sale of the youth stamp.
